Strengthen The Most Important Muscle In Your Body
Hi:,
There are approximately 600 muscles in the human
body--and while most are concerned about the muscles
in their lower body, their biceps, etc, none of those
really matter if the 'ol ticker isn't strong. This
week we're here with the top 10 tips to improve the
health of your heart (and, you know what, following
these simple tips will also have a wonderful benefit
of making you look and feel even better physically too).
1. Eat more fruits and vegetables. American's eat
an average of 2 servings every single day (and for our
international readers, you aren't necessarily doing
so well either). The more colorful, the better.
Throw some veggies into an omelette, fruit on your
cereal, in your protein shake, etc.
2. Eat raw nuts--like almonds, pistachios, pecans,
and walnuts. They each provide a ton of antioxidants,
healthy fats, and some protein--they're great for on
the go (but make sure they're raw, as many are roasted
in oil).
3. Eat foods that don't come from a package--the less
packaging, the better, so focus on produce, fish, grains,
etc.
4. Move more and move often. Going to the gym is
great, but what do you do the other 23 hours of the day?
5. Eat at least 25 grams of fiber each day. Have some
oatmeal in the morning, fruits and vegetables throughout
the day, and never eat a carbohydrate that has less
than 3 grams of fiber per serving.
6. Don't eat trans fats--learn to read food labels and
eliminate these dangerous fats.
7. Eat more fish--American Heart Association suggests
at least 12 oz of fatty fish per week (salmon, tuna, etc).
8. Take fish oil--yes, this is in addition to eating
fish. With over 8,000 studies on omega-3 fats, there's
surely a benefit and we're not eating enough omega-3's
at all.
9. Always eat breakfast--those who eat breakfast every
eat more fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
10. Since this week is Valentine's Day, we can't skip
over dark chocolate. There are some data to show there's
benefit to eating ONE ounce of dark (aim for a minimum of
70% cocao) each day.

A state-of-the-art health club recently opened in Rochester, Minnesota, where I live. A gleaming cathedral of exercise, it cost $22 million to build and features an expansive climate-controlled fitness floor beneath three-story ceilings and a soaring wall of windows. Like most American health clubs—a $17.6 billion industry made up of more than 29,000 clubs and 42.7 million members—the facility reserved its nerve center to house its greatest treasure: hundreds of futuristic and impossibly sleek cardio- and strength-training machines"

Fat to fitness instructor: Boot camp helps man lose 120 pounds - CNN.com: "Fat to fitness instructor: Boot camp helps man lose 120 pounds"
Weighing 335 pounds, Lenczowski suffered constantly from pain in his knees and ankles. Everyday activities such as walking and even traveling on an airplane had become difficult.
At the age of 39, he was diagnosed with a heart condition and hypertension (high blood pressure). He knew it was time to make a change and his doctor agreed.
"It was a chore to get to work. I had to park and then walk," says Lenczowski. "By the time I got to work I was sweating and I would have to time things so I could cool off before I had a meeting."
The extra weight not only took a toll on his physical health, but also was chipping away at his self-esteem. Lenczowski, who worked as a fundraiser for a nonprofit health organization, felt like a hypocrite

3 Fat Burn Tips
Hey Everyone
Just a quick one today...giving you three of the most important
things you need to be doing to burn fat.
1) Figure out your food intake.
You can't just "wing it". You can't "eyeball" your food intake, as
research shows that even nutritionists underestimate how much food
they are eating.
So find out exactly how many calories you are eating each day. If
you aren't losing fat, it's a simple numbers game. You are eating
too much or not enough. And if you know your numbers, its easy to make the
necessary changes.
2) Use the right recovery pace in your interval training
The biggest mistake people make in interval training is working too
on there off days. Exercise...wait moving burns calories. If you are not eating enough to support that and not resting so your body can change you are doing yourself a dis-service
So lose the have to do cardio mentality and be sure to alternate between
periods of harder than normal exercise, and very easy exercise.
Use the recovery period to recover!
3) Plan your food intake on the weekend
Set aside time to plan, shop, and prepare several days worth of
meals. Use a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to cook some chicken
breasts, prepare some raw vegetables, wash your fruit, and pack up
your nuts.
Plan ahead and you won't succumb to vending machine follies, or gas
station sabotage on your diet.
