Eating for fat loss is simple, right? 

Eat fewer calories than you expend in a certain time period and you lose weight... Eat more calories than you expend and you gain weight... right?

Not so fast!

While it's true that your overall caloric intake vs your caloric expenditure is one of the most important aspects in whether you gain weight or lose weight... there are a lot of factors involved that complicate this, such as:

1. Calorie counting NEVER works!

Almost nobody, and I mean nobody, counts calories accurately.  Controlled studies indicate that the majority of people (between 75-90%) consistently (and massively) under-report their calories consumed when they are asked to track their calories.

I'm going to show you why calorie-counting is completely obsolete (as long as you follow one of the main principles that I'm going to teach you).

2. Appetite control and cravings destroy the ability for most people to ever meet a calorie goal

If your appetite and cravings are out of control, how can you control hunger and actually stay in your goal calorie range for fat loss?  The problem is that most people can't!

There is a trick that you can master that will automatically control your appetite and cravings. 

3. Hormone imbalances

If you're eating the wrong foods and don't even know it, this may be disrupting hormone balances in your body and leading you to overeat, decrease your metabolic rate, and other problems that can prevent you from burning off body fat effectively.

If you read below, you'll see how you can reverse these eating habits that are causing hormone imbalances, and turn your body into a fat-burning machine, like it was meant to be.

I can't tell you how many times I've walked into the kitchen of a client of mine that has hired me for nutritional counseling, and I'm shocked by what I see...

Almost every time, I see their kitchen cabinets and fridge LOADED with foods that they think are "healthy" (or have been deceived by clever food labels into believing are healthy), but in reality are fat-storing traps in disguise.

We have been duped into believing that instant, fast, pre-made foods will somehow make us thin and healthy. If you check out your grocery store frozen food isle, you will often see overweight people purchasing what they think are ―diet dinners‖. Nothing could be further from the truth! Processed diet dinners are chock full of preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, processed flours, synthetic fillers, soy protein, and the worst kind of fats. These foods will cause inflammation, stimulate the insulin response--i.e., store fat, and do nothing for you nutritionally. What‘s more, you will GAIN weight from eating this kind of junk!

Did you know in  1997, each of us was consuming 122 pounds of flour, 105 pounds of sugar or other sweeteners, 20 pounds of fried potatoes, and 50 pounds of vegetable cooking oils. The #1 reason people FAIL to lose weight:

Let me ask you this:  If every day you stepped on the scale and saw a
lower number, and every week you looked in the mirror to see visually
noticeable results, would you continue doing what you are doing?
Let me answer that for you.  YES, you would.
It doesn't matter how "hard" what you're doing is, you'd still
continue to do it. 
In fact, you'd probably work out even more and tighten up your diet
even more as a result of the RESULTS you're experiencing.
Results are motivating.  If fact, there's nothing more motivating.
And here's another reality:  If you're NOT experiencing results,
you will never continue to put in the hard work and effort
necessary to change your body.
Unfortunately, hard work and effort don't necessarily equate to
results.  In fact, there are a ton of people out there working
hard, and getting nowhere.
Why?  Because there's a ton of information out there that simply
does NOT work for fat loss, while still requiring a ton of hard work
and sacrifice. 
For example, you could "diet" and choose the wrong foods and watch
your weight stand at a standstill.
You could perform hours of slow-go cardio every week only to watch
the scale read the same number week after week.
You could starve yourself, royally screw your metabolism, and even
GAIN weight over time as a result. 
And then what happens?  You quit, that's what.
And I don't BLAME you.  Why would you ever continue to sacrifice
without being rewarded?
I wouldn't, and you shouldn't.      
So take a good hard look at what you're doing and think about this:
What's fueling your workouts?  What's fueling your desire to eat
healthy and consume fewer calories?
If results aren't your fuel, you're going to give up and
quit...sooner rather than later.  Proof?  Let your car run out of
fuel and see what happens.
That's right, it doesn't go.
The one solitary thing that fuels your desire to "stay on the
wagon" is results.  And that's what this newsletter is here for:

can continue moving forward toward your goals, without wasting

Today I wanted to talk about SPLENDA

Splenda is a sugar substitute that is widely used in foods, especially in foods targeted at the diet market. Splenda is the brand name for sucralose, which was discovered in 1976. It contains zero calories and is about 600 times sweeter than sugar. While sucralose has FDA approval, it has been a controversial food additive, and there have been no long-range studies of its safety. Both the effects of Splenda and how much is too much are questions that only long-term studies can answer. Reported side effects from Splenda range from diarrhea to migraines to panic-like agitation.


Sucralose was discovered by accident. In 1976, researchers at the British sugar company Tate & Lyle and the University of London's Queen Elizabeth College were testing chlorinated sugars for another purpose, and a grad student misunderstood an instruction to "test" sucralose as "taste" sucralose. The researchers found that chlorinated sugars were hundreds of times sweeter than sucrose, the technical name for regular table sugar. Those who think Splenda is dangerous point to the fact that the chlorine used to make Splenda is a carcinogen, and that the chemical composition of Splenda is similar to DDT and other dangerous pesticides. Supporters say its composition is almost identical to sugar.

Reported Side Effects

The list of reported side effects from Splenda is long and varied, according to an article by Dr. Betty Martini on Side effects include skin irritation, itching and swelling, bloating, diarrhea, headache, tremors, nausea, abdominal pain, depression, forgetfulness, mood swings and severe anxiety. Writing on the Women to Women website, OB/GYN Marcelle Pick cites an article from the 1991 issue of "New Scientist," which reported on a short-term study by the manufacturer about rats that consumed large amounts of sucralose. The study by toxicologist Judith Bellin found that the sugar substitute caused shrunken thymus glands, enlarged livers and kidney disorders in rodents.

Gut Health

A study conducted at Duke University and published in the "Journal of Toxicology of Environmental Health" in 2008, found that sucralose decreased good bacteria in the gut. The decrease in bacteria was deemed significant. The absence of good bacteria can lead to malabsorption, an illness that affects the digestive system's ability to filter nutrients properly. The study also found that sucralose reduced the effectiveness of other drugs that study subjects were taking.


Because of the uncertainties surrounding Splenda and other artificial sweeteners, cautions you to use them in moderation. Until long-term human studies are conducted, the effects of excessive consumption of Splenda -- or even how much is excessive -- will remain in question. Meanwhile, although Splenda has been approved in around 40 countries, some European countries have withheld their approval, and there are organizations in America that are lobbying the FDA to take another look at the sugar substitute

Why Sugar Is Better
Just for a definition, by sugar, I mean any type of caloric sweetener, such as cane sugar, evaporated cane juice, high-fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, honey, etc. 

Over millions of years of evolution, one thing the human body has figured out is how to handle incoming nutrients. Through the actions of insulin, it either uses or stores incoming glucose for future use, either as muscle or liver glycogen or as fat. What I’m getting at is that the body knows what to do with the sugar you’re feeding it.
Of course, it can’t handle the high quantities of sugar that most people are shoveling in, but at least it has a mechanism for dealing with what is going in when handling sugar. It doesn’t matter if that incoming sugar is in the form of sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, honey, or agave nectar…the body knows that it is sugar and breaks it down accordingly.

Tomorrow I will be Talking about Stevia. Stevia is a newcomer to the United States but has been used in South America for more than 1,500 years and available in Japan and Asia for more than 35 years.
